WHAT’S NEW AT KEJIMKUJIK NATIONAL PARK AND NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE:

 March Break is a great time to start planning your next outdoor adventure! Drop by the Parks Canada booth at the Atlantic Outdoor Sports & RV Show at the Halifax Exhibition Center, March 10th -12th and find out what’s new at Kejimkujik and Cape Breton Highlands National Park this year!

Reminder, during the winter months, Kejimkujik is open for day-use activities only. While Kejimkujik is open year-round, the majority of facilities and services are closed during the winter season. Visitors are responsible for their own safety. All visitors should be prepared for changing weather conditions, be aware of winter hazards, and have adequate information and equipment to ensure a safe visit. Visit AdventureSmart.ca for tips on how to prepare for your favourite winter activity. For more information regarding visiting Kejimkujik safely, check online, email: kejimkujik@pc.gc.ca, or call 902-682-2770 Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. You can also keep close tabs on the changing weather with the help of the Friends of Keji webcam.

Parks Canada Reservations for Kejimkujik opens March 31!  Before you book, make sure you’re prepared! You must create a new account to access this year’s updated reservation system – check out all the details here! Kejimkujik reopens for overnight camping Friday, May 19th.

Order your 2023 Kejimkujik Season Pass at the ‘Early Bird’ special rate before May 19 – You can get your seasonal pass for Kejimkujik by emailing kejimkujik@pc.gc.ca or calling 902-682-2770, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Seasonal passes are the most economical way to experience Kejimkujik!

WHAT’S NEW AT HALIFAX CITADEL NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE:

March Break Family Tours of the Halifax Citadel are back! – Join a special winter guided tour of the historic Halifax Citadel with your family or small group (up to 12 participants). Discover how the British soldiers lived in the 19th century fort and how they survived the cold Halifax winters! Time your tour with the noon gun and experience a Halifax tradition!  Tours run Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17 at 11 am, 1:00 pm and 2pm. Reserve online through Eventbrite. Cost: $54.99 + HST per family/group. Call 902-426-1990 for more information.

NEW – The Army Museum Halifax Citadel is offering guided Spring Break Family Tours! – Join the curator of the Army Museum for a small group guided tour over spring break. Hear family-oriented stories about Nova Scotia’s soldiers who served in the Canadian Army. Participate in hands-on activities like trying on a uniform or using equipment to communicate like soldiers did in the field! Tours run Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 at 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Please note: tours are offered in English only. Reserve online through Eventbrite. WHAT’S NEW AT FORT ANNE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE:

Winter is a great time to make your way to Fort Anne National Historic Site – Stroll the ramparts or the perimeter trail (weather and trail conditions permitting) and enjoy the spectacular views of the Annapolis Basin and beyond. The earthen walls of the classic Vauban fortification provide the perfect vantage point and if the snow is right, they’re perfect for sledding too!
