Applications to extend our Forever a Forest project!

The Southwest Nova Biosphere is putting out a call for applications to extend our Forever a Forest project and are interested in hearing from landowners within Annapolis, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, and Queens counties who would like to have their land reforested. The ideal land would provide a total planting area of 1 hectare or more in size and include one of the following habitats we are looking to restore:

  • Old or marginal farm fields

  • The expansion or reforestation of riparian areas.

  • Land that has lost (or losing) its tree cover due to fire, pests or extreme weather events

  • Diversification/underplanting of monoculture plantations.

  • Areas that will bridge and improve habitat connectivity.
